Just some of those random thoughts...

Sorry to all my inexistent blog fans about not updating my blog for so long! i've been rather busy...

I woke up one morning to some news on CNA, talking about how the populations of pandas and tigers are dwindling drastically over the past decade. They were attributed to us humans, who else? Which i totally agree. We humans, as a species, are murderers. It also got me to think about zoos. I don't really like the concept of animals in captivity. I mean, who are we to rob them from their natural habitat and put them in cages for our viewing pleasure?? If we wanna see a monkey, we should just bloody go to a forest and see it in its natural habitat... and in its full glory, swing from tree to tree while picking up a coconut along the way or something. That's what i call showing respect to the animal.

What if one day, the animals conspire to take revenge on us humans?? Hey it could happen. For all u know, the plan is brewing as we speak. The animals would start slaughtering us for our meat, making us plough their lands, bulldozing our HDBs so they can plant more trees, and for THEIR amusement's sake, capture us and put us into make-belief houses so they can observe us. Just like how we observe them in a zoo. Wow. animals taking over the world. Neat, i say. Then there would be human crossings, instead of zebra ones. There would be human banks instead of piggy ones. A human and keyboard instead of mouse and keyboard. Cats & Dogs will say "Wow it's raining men & women". hahhaa whatever the case is, i just don't feel its right to steal these animals' rights. They deserve to live on this planet as much as we do.

My friend Marvin sent me a link to a youtube video..and he said thru MSN that there was a major internet crash in USA, and all info were lost! I watched the entire video, and it was only towards the end that i convinced myself it was a spoof. Darn you, Marv! hahah almost fell for it. But what IF the internet really crashed and all the info inside vanished?? We'll all really be doomed. I could probably imagine some of us going into mourning, and maybe blame the terrorists too.

I watched Hairspray on saturday (i think)... and i absolutely loved it! For those of you who think i meant staring at a can of gatsby spray-on wax, Hairspray is actually a movie based on an American musical. The plot was simple, but the costumes, the music and dancing were so powerful that it almost compelled me to get up on my feet and start dancing right there and then. Now i understand all those Michael Jackson MTVs, where he starts dancing and everyone else starts to follow. Anyway speaking of movies... My friends who have watched Bourne Ultimatum have given their thumbs up for it. Sigh I don't think i'll be watching it w/o having watched the prequels. I heard they're coming up with a 4th Bourne show called "Bourne-dage", where Bourne discovers he's actually a sex pervert who like to tie women up and do kinky stuff... and a 5th show "Bourne-Appetit" where Bourne can't stop eating after discovering the wonders of dim sum.

Went to Tai Sun warehouse at Pandan Loop yesterday with Shermeen to buy some peanuts... The place is really ULU man. Like, it's in the middle of nowhere!! So after buying the peanuts, Sherms and i were dreading as to how we were going to get outta that place. I asked with a pleading voice... "How are we going to get a taxi?"... just then, like a knight in shining armour in a fairy tale, a Mercedes Taxi appeared!! We quickly flagged it down as we couldn't believe our luck. I think next time if i'm that lucky again, i should push it a little more. like, "How i wish i had a lifetime supply of zara clothes... ". Oh wait. I think i already have that. muahahha.

Oh one more thing. I've been eating loads of tapioca chips... been breaking wind like a spastic hairdryer. hehe

The new things... part 2

Well as promised i was gonna post up pictures of me from the very 1st dinner and dance i hosted recently. so yeap that's me. in the new suit from g2000. ya know, totalling up the cost of my blazer, pants, belt and shirt, it doesn't even exceed $150! haha and yet i felt like a million bucks. see what good and careful shopping can bring you? hahaha gosh i sound like a girl.

I'm still waiting for the rest of the photos that were taken by the photographer. wonder if the event company received them already.
Anyway! so here's another NEW thing in my life... which i'm not too estatic about. THE FRESHIES. UGH man it's crazy! everywhere's littered with people!! worse still, people i haven't even seen before! Before their arrival, SMU was already crowded enough, with not enough seats in the library and insufficient GSRs to go around. and now this!! Even the business lobby could be mistaken for a holding area for justin timberlake's fans!
I can safely say... i love SMU less now.
The first week of school has been pretty alright so far. Lots of preparation going on at frujch, and finally they're opening tmr!!! YAy!! excited for them. I just hope the crowd doesn't spill over to frujch too. UGH. okay that's mean of me. I should encourage them to go into frujch so they can bring in the ka-ching. In that case, maybe i'll be hanging around there less. sigh. dunno lah. we'll see.

The new things... part 1

Things around me are going through a change right now... Some of these changes are rather exciting... and sometimes inspiring.

My new phone. Sony Ericsson w580i. Also known as what-took-them-so-long-to-come-up-with-this-phone. It's a beauty. Like how one british guy commented while watching his subway sandwich being prepared, it's "smashing". Sleek, cool colours, lovely sound quality, extremely light. I can't stop fondling this baby. It's like calling out to me: "Yeah... that's right... push my button... right there...oooohhh ure turning me on. literally."

Frujch is going through a renovation now. Gonna have lovely bold colours. AND an exciting menu with loadsa food!! look out for it! but i still hope they can increase the temperature in the place actually. It's freezinggggg...

And i also wished they didn't have to paint over my giraffes. I drew and painted them free-hand ok?!?! this is cruelty to giraffes!! call the SPCA!!

Sticky Situations: The masking tape fights back.

Look out for Sticky Situations 2: The booger that just didn't let go.

Jo just started working at Ice-cream cafe. We went down to visit her at night. Yeap they actually make their staff stick out their tongue while on shift.

Kidding. It was a slip of the tongue. Pun fully intended. haha

No that ain't my tongue. that was the tip of the cone.

We were taking pictures of our fakest smiles, and Erfain won my vote for having the fakest one.

Yeah we kinda destroyed the picture. we were laughing like hell though. haha.

Another change i had over the weekend was that i hosted my 1st ever dinner and dance! woohoo! i'll post abt that one separately... maybe when i get my pictures.
Lame riddle: this one's longer than my usual riddles...
One day a motivational speaker tried to use visuals for his audience. So he did this: stretch a sanitary pad and unzipped his pants. What was he trying to communicate?

Going Downtown...

Wow!! 5 days not blogging! feels weird man. haha... well it was a great long weekend for me! For one, i met up with Grace, clara, Zheng, chao and malik for some supper on national day! man did we laugh the night through! and grace was sweet as usual, making me a personalized card. Hugs babe!

On friday i met up with sherms to accompany her for her haircut.. before that, we had delicious ramen at cuppage!! yummy!!

Then On saturday I did some shopping with sherms! i must say that it was quite fun! We were walking around borders most of the time... the thing about borders that i dislike is their disorganised shelving of books! Some of the the books are not arranged by author's name, nor book title! So it was very difficult looking for what I wanted at times.

but anyways while sherms and i were walking around town... we saw a few interesting things... Before i met up with sherms, i was passing by the atrium at PS and saw this international Muay Thai championship going on... i was rather intrigued by it as I haven't seen a live boxing or kickboxing match before. I was also awed by how hard the 2 fighters were kicking each other... as in, you could literally hear a loud thud when the foot hits the body! OUCH!

Then when sherms and i met up, we saw these 3 ppl dressed up as gladiators at orchard MRT! WOOoooh talk about kinky, baby! hahaha in my overflowing curiosity, I approached them to ask if there was a cosfest somewhere... they said no, and that they were just mascots for Clinique cosmetics... I'm like, WHAT??? It still baffles me till now as i try to draw a link from cosmetics to gladiators... the best i could think of was "Fight away UV rays!" or "Clinique Cosmetics: the heroes of your skin!"...

Haha the picture begets the caption "Better be armed and ready for the great singapore sale!"

Then another interesting sight was this capoeira demonstration by locals just outside borders... There was like a circle of people clapping along, a few of them chanting while playing some traditional musical instruments... t'was quite nice to watch! In case you don't know what capoeira is all about, it's a form of brazilian dance/martial art. Go google it. hahah.
Well i must say sometimes town can be quite interesting despite me being sick of going there frequently. As long as they have more dances, fighting and kinkily dressed people, I wouldn't mind going down more often i guess. Such are the cheap thrills i get when ure living in boring singapore. hahaha.
And dear Flea is leaving today for Germany... sigh... well i just hope we'll keep in touch while she's there... Take care babe!! make sure u have loads of fun!! Hugs!

GENerally MERVmerizing.

Well this entry is about a skit that we're helping Merv with... basically he was called in by S2travel (weird name i know. it means safe 2 travel) to help come up with a skit as part of a preview or presentation to pitch a deal to NTUC income. The context of the skit is a long story and since i'm in a lazy mood, i shan't elaborate. All i can say is that it was really fun hanging out with gen and merv again. Man i miss school shows.

That's gen with her trademark 'peace' sign... and OMG do u notice it?? YEAH her nails are painted blue! Ok fine i'm pretending not to notice the weird vietnamese hat and oversized glasses. hahaha.

HAH! just when gen hoped i wouldn't publish this... muahahha. i just found this pic so amusing cos it looks damn wrong... hahaha!

And yes, how can we forget the Merv's phallic pen. That Gen spoilt... hahaha and she was being soooo anal about fixing it whilst merv couldn't really be too bothered (as you can tell from the pic, he was just amused as to how we were so adamant on fixing it). Oh and Gen wants me to mention the spring from the pen. I accidentally lost the spring just when i thought i figured how to fix the pen. We were looking all over for the spring... and when i finally found it, i screamed eureka!! i excitedly fixed it back into the pen... and.... PRESTO! the pen still didn't work. DAMN!!! hahaha

One thing that baffled me... in the male toilet while i was taking a piss, i noticed how bloody huge the flushing button was. it's like i could fit a whole bloody hand on it! I mean, why?? i know they said guys had very bad toilet aiming, but i don't think it was referring to the flushing button!
The button looked like those kinda trap door switch where if u were to push it, the wall behind could kinda slide open... a surge of light and wind coming from the other side... a voice tempting u to step into the world of unknown... "come, jonny... come home... to... er... Urinalia... we mean no harm... all we want is PEE-ce..."

Happy Birthday Dad!

My Dad turned 60 on sunday... and the brothers and i decided to throw him a big party, inviting his friends and our relatives as well! well i'm glad my father truly enjoyed himself. I'll let the pictures do most of the talking...

Not to be mean, but if bad singers had deities, they most probably would be my parents. hahaha I'm sorry but i think my parents can't really sing. My mum can sing marginally better than my dad. Okay lah it wasn't totally horrendous.

"The birthday buns", they call it. hahah our first dish arrived after a long wait... and boy did everyone gobble them down. hahah the funny thing was, there was the HUGE version of the birthday bun especially for my dad. hahah all of us, found it so amusing and had a fun time playing aroung with it... even sherms and i took a whack at it. hahahha. (btw, doesn't sherms look sweet in that pic? she can look quite good while playing with a bun, can't she? hahaha sounds wrong)

Think this must have been the favourite dish for sherms and i: Peking duck skin in crepe . Yummy with a capital Y, U, M, M, and Y. hahah. tasted really good with the special sauce too!

I admired Sherm's mum for having the courage to kick start the atmosphere by singing beautifully a japanese song. She really got the ball rolling.... and she can really sing. haha.

I think, based on the very few good singers we noticed that day, O levels should include "Singing" as one of the COMPULSORY subjects. We could really do with more good singers. hahaha.

There you go... the birthday BOY. 6 big candles. one huge cake.

We went round to every table for a 'yam seng' session. hahaha as though my dad was getting married again! CHOY! anyway see my cousin niece in that pic? SOOOOo adorable!!! she was covering her poor little ears that were probably jarred from the very loud cheering @ the table...

Gratification: As i drove my parents us home after the whole event, my mum asked my dad if he was happy... my dad replied with a resounding "YES". I dunno if that was authentic cos he was rather tipsy haha... but i'm pretty sure he meant it. and to me, that's all that matters.
Happy Birthday, Daddy. Love ya.
