My Legs Scream for Help...

What a weekend! Spent both saturday and sunday hosting at Funan Mall for the launch of ELAN online, a multiplayer online Role-playing game... (gee... God knows how many times i've said that...) It was pretty alright... the best thing about it? The people. From the event planners, to the organisers - they were all very nice! Got along with them pretty well... at least i hope i did. Heh. Big hello to new friends (in no order of merit, friendliness, attractiveness, height, gender, bloodtype, dialect or preferred mode of transport): Gary, Shandy, Michelle, Melissa, Hansen, Julia, Andrew, Zoe and June!

The worst thing about the event? I had to stand for like, 8 hours each day, trying to get the attention of people walking pass... ugh. My knees almost went on strike.

Cute costumes for the cosplayers. Too bad some of them didn't fit perfectly.

During the event, one of the participants of one of the contests told me i look like Wang Li Hom, the singer. i'm like, why do ppl think that way!?!?! Some others told me that too. Really meh?!?

Just this morning (monday), i played badminton with sherms, malik and Zhichao... What a workout. Who would have known that a mere 45 minute session of badminton could make you perspire so much! All the lunges and the scurrying back and forth really gave my legs a 'run' for its money. pun fully intended. Now not only my knees hurt, my thighs and my ass muscles are sore. So sore that i feel 'sore-ry' for them. Muahahaha.

At this point, i would like to dig my nose. In addition, i'd also like to apologise to Janet... I'm so so sorry babe, for missing your bday and didn't give u any well wishes on the day itself! ARGH! i feel so bad! but hey i got present for ya! Hope to meet u up soon!!

The (Red) Devil's Advocate

This would be my 1st sports-related entry. I watched bits and pieces of the the match between my beloved Manchester United and Middlesborough. And as of all Man U fans out there, our hearts sang gleefully as Man U once again put up a dazzling display of world-class, dazzling soccer... brushing Middlesborough aside 4-1. It's the 4th consecutive time that Man U has scored 4 goals... But it's not the goals that impress me. It's their confidence and brand of attacking football. It's such joy to watch.
This is a lead-up to their match against League leaders Arsenal next weekend. What a titanic battle in the horizon. Arsenal, who have been God-like in their football, might prove too much for Manchester United to handle. At the moment, the gunners look like they can do no wrong. But one (or 2) season ago, it took Man U to stop Chelsea's formidable form. Can they do it the same to Arsenal? and once again restore equilibrium in favour of themselves, the rightful rulers? We'll find out. Just so u know, i'm prepared for a Man U loss. anything else is a bonus. Nevertheless, i'll always be proud of them.
Onto other stuff.
If you're a driver, you would agree with me that sometimes you encounter motorcyclists who are just suicidal on the roads. They zip past you, tailgate, squeeze into the smallest of gaps between vehicles... and they're always speeding! I mean, don't they realise that the slightest touch from another vehicle would send them flying? their bodies might be then deformed or shattered by the oncoming traffic? And for some reason, i get the feeling that they ENJOY these thrill rides of theirs. SURE. go ahead and live life as though the tragic deaths of other riders will never happen to them. Laugh while you do so. Just remember while you are airbourne, and about the hit the ground head-first, U ASKED FOR IT.

The Weekend Warrior strikes again!!

Yeap. The Weekend Warrior. That's what my girlfriend calls me. Do little to no exercise during the weekdays, then overexert myself on the weekends... then for the next whole week i'd be limping around due to my sore muscles or my minor injuries sustained during the exercises.

Saturday:

Went to play soccer (finally after who-knows-how-long) at redhill... the weather came crashing down midway thru our game, soaking us to the skin... but we still went ahead and played. Fortunately the sun came up again... so we didn't have to keep wiping our eyes to see where the ball was. I had a GREAT game! Very very fun. really took a toll on me though...

At night, sherms and i went for the $10 dance classes offered by Esplanade! the dance we learnt was Swing! hahah we were rather excited! Great thing that the class didn't disappoint! The male instructor was funny! Too bad i couldn't take any pics...

What a way to celebrate our 1.5-year anniversary!!! hahah happy anniversary darling!

Sunday:

Played tennis in the morning with Malik and Charlene at Jurong Country Club. It was their 1st time playing!! haha soooo fun! Too bad Chao couldn't make it cos his neck was painful... same problem last week. (but for some STRANGE reason he could play soccer just yesterday??)

Anyways the whole thing was really fun! Malik was learning really fast... and Charlene.. well.. she tried her best (as u can tell from the video, showing the early stages of their training). Hhahahaha. Looks like she's gonna have to stick to rollerblading. Hahaha.

Here are more pics of each of us... Charlene commented that in that pic she actually looked pro... although in reality she sucks. hahaha

Coolness! hope to get malik to play with me again sometime soon if possible! =)

Then at night, my family and I went to Newton Circus (Yes the place with all the seafood stall owners soliciting for business) for dinner! ATE SO DAMN MUCH! ughhh.

On the palates were hokkien mee, chicken wings, popiah, fried rice, satay, stringray, fish dumpling soup... and capping it off with burbur chacha.

here's a picture of my bros. It's a little blurred, but that's ok. Prevents SOMEONE from getting too excited over my big bro... (yes Faizal, talking abt you here.) hahahha

During the family dinner i was amused by things like how my Dad accidentally said "You should buy the internal antenna, not the OUTernal one..." Hahhahaa. I dunno. maybe he had an OUTerior motive in saying that.
And how every alternate stall was a seafood stall. No wonder they're so competitive for buisiness.
And there was a caucasion sitting by himself with an opened umbrella sheltering him while he feasted on his seafood...
My mum also suggested that we only take one car to newton circus, cos all of us could be "PUT IN" to Ivan's car. I was like "You think we're groceries or what??" Hahahha so cute.
And now... as expected, my body's really tired and aching... Don't be surprised to see me limping around school next week. hahaha.
Anyways for my dear friends who are overseas... Merry, Felicia, and Pamela... Hope u all are well!!! miss u girls already!! Please keep in touch!!
