Spare me my life!

I posted something about a japanese exercise video before... i only put the link there, but since i've learnt to embed the video onto my blog, i might as well! so here it is once again for your enjoyment! hahaha!

The (Red) Devil's Advocate

This would be my 1st sports-related entry. I watched bits and pieces of the the match between my beloved Manchester United and Middlesborough. And as of all Man U fans out there, our hearts sang gleefully as Man U once again put up a dazzling display of world-class, dazzling soccer... brushing Middlesborough aside 4-1. It's the 4th consecutive time that Man U has scored 4 goals... But it's not the goals that impress me. It's their confidence and brand of attacking football. It's such joy to watch.
This is a lead-up to their match against League leaders Arsenal next weekend. What a titanic battle in the horizon. Arsenal, who have been God-like in their football, might prove too much for Manchester United to handle. At the moment, the gunners look like they can do no wrong. But one (or 2) season ago, it took Man U to stop Chelsea's formidable form. Can they do it the same to Arsenal? and once again restore equilibrium in favour of themselves, the rightful rulers? We'll find out. Just so u know, i'm prepared for a Man U loss. anything else is a bonus. Nevertheless, i'll always be proud of them.
Onto other stuff.
If you're a driver, you would agree with me that sometimes you encounter motorcyclists who are just suicidal on the roads. They zip past you, tailgate, squeeze into the smallest of gaps between vehicles... and they're always speeding! I mean, don't they realise that the slightest touch from another vehicle would send them flying? their bodies might be then deformed or shattered by the oncoming traffic? And for some reason, i get the feeling that they ENJOY these thrill rides of theirs. SURE. go ahead and live life as though the tragic deaths of other riders will never happen to them. Laugh while you do so. Just remember while you are airbourne, and about the hit the ground head-first, U ASKED FOR IT.

Excuse me, i need to go to the Flu.

Gee it's been sooo long since i last made an entry. Been so bogged down by work... and as you probably guessed by now, i was down with a flu. The culprit? Fried Food and snacks. Yeap the very things that keep us going when our days are tough... the very things that pick us up when we are down... turned out to be my nemesis in disguise. Oh how vile you are! Perish, you will when i recover. I will consume every one of you so that none of my other fellow human beings would have to suffer from your venom. Be gone!

Ehem. Right. Anyways My parents just came back from Chiang Mai 2 days ago! BOOOOOOo! now EVERYONE in my family has been to Thailand except me!!!! Sigh.

anyways i was looking through some videos my mum took at the Elephant park, and it's just so heartwarming to see how deep a connection the thais had with their elephants.

Oh she filmed the elephants playing soccer!! How Elephantastic! And it's not some clumsy elephant tripping over a ball you know... the elephant could actually take a penalty kick! So cool!

And here's a picture that the elephant painted!!! Ain't that amazing?! I'm telling ya. Animals are taking over the world. High time they did. And when they do, i just want them to know that i'm on their side. muahaha.

On another note:

Just read from the news today that Singapore's trying to more gender equal when it comes to sexual abuse cases. So that means that guys can claim sexual harrasment as much as girls can. HAh!! finally! so you girls who have been trying to hit on me, WATCH OUT! muahahaha. Just because you don't exist doesn't mean i can't sue you!!

Cheeky Business

Today while on my way to class, i stopped by Kopitiam to get my lunch from the economical rice stall. This is what i experienced:

This non-chinese guy (i think he's malay) who was serving someone else, was just mimicking his chinese colleagues by adressing the customer as 'shuai ge' (handsome guy), then laughing to himself about it, and after that he went on by asking "hai you leh?" (anything else?)... and STILL chuckling to himself. It was just interesting watching him.

Then when i proceeded to pay for my food, i asked the cashier to give me a pair of chopsticks as well. He cheekily said "chopsticks add 20 cents". I said something along the lines of "NO WAYyyy"... and he replied "YES WAY"... and the he smiled. He was kidding, of cos. hahaha

Thinking abt it, it was so lame. but somehow, i walked away from that store smiling. Something abt that made me feel good. That's the power of service. it's the little things. haha

Wise man says: Fruit that has flown a thousand miles will burn hole in pocket.

Wow it's been a long time since i updated! woops! sorry folks! Think i've been too busy recently. Well let's see, what's there to update on... Oh yes i went for lunch with shermeen and her family on sunday (14th oct) at Red Star Restaurant... Apparently they have quite good dim sum!

That's sherms with her favourite dim sum of all time: the chestnut cake thingie. See, it's so important to her that i don't know what it's called. Wait... that didn't make sense. *sheepish* hehe sorry dear!

We then proceeded to Liang Court to shop around... we first went to kinokuniya, then to the supermarket in basement 1, called Meidi-Ya... They have imported Japanese foods there... what totally blew my mind was the prices. check it out:

Exhibit A

Rockmelon: $89.90
Man. That certainly rocked MY melons. Hmmm. that sounded wrong.

Exhibit B

Siew Pek Chye: $8.90
And that's even before cooking it with garlic and soy sauce.

But i DID enjoy the lovely Japanese ice-cream!! YUMMY. They had flavours like sweet potato, and black sesame (the same thing u get from tang yuan)! and oh their melon flavour was good too! I swear the best things in life come from Japan.

Other japanese products i'm looking to acquire in the near future:
Nintendo Wii!!!
A new Sony Camera
More Japanese Ice cream

So anyways. Sherms, nab, shal, Erfen and myself went to Shal's place to watch The Producers AGAIN. We enjoyed it once more... laughed quite a lot. Keep it light, keep it fun, keep it gay!!
Oh before that we went to Geylang Surai to buy some malay goodies for dinner! Man, i wish i could live in a pasar malam!

Okie dokie... back to my busy life. ugh i so need a haircut. that's like so random. just like how i love men's lifestyle magazines.

Adults amuse me too.

Yeah they do. but in a different way. Sometimes they behave so childishly... and, dare i say it? Stupidly.

Just read the New paper article about motorcycle gangs... and how they hack rival gang members to death. I'm thinking, these guys are at least young adults. Some of them old enough to tell the difference between butterflies and moths. And yet, because of some childish staring incidents or plain grim rivalry, they fight.

This one takes the cake: in New Paper as well... about one guy in Bt Panjang who saw the neighbour staring at him. He walks over to the neighbour's flat, and demanded for him to come out. When that didn't happen, he started to violently hammer the windows. The windows broke, and his arms bled so profusely that he fainted.
All i can say is... HAHAHAHAHAHA. deserved it.

But you get my point about them being foolish?

I also read this article abt this family of expats who left singapore for KL... and within one week, they were violated 2ce. Once by a burglar, and another time by some 'religion police'.
They talked about how they miss S'pore and all, at the same time mentioning all the perks of living in Malaysia (Cheaper houses, cars, people smile more.. etc). But if you ask me, nothing is more valuable than being assured that your loved ones will be home safely everyday. You can't put a price tag on that.

This world's a circus

This is Louis showing off how huge his mouth is. Craps. You could park a whole lorry in there. Hahaha. Maybe he could be featured in the next season of Heroes... and his powers include being able to eat up all the other heroes. and burping very loudly.

Anyway the weekend and the recess is FINALLY here!!! yeah i can't wait for a fantastic week ahead full of project meetings!!! WWWHHEEEEE!!!! ............... sigh.

But I will be watching a bit of Boston Legal i think.... JUST started watching the first season on DVD. It's a clever, funny, touching, and yet provocative show! hahaha Anybody wants the DVD let me know. =)

I DO hope to have a whole day with my gf or something. Haven't spent a lot of quality time with her actually, despite seeing every day.

Now everyone, pls... while i know it's just a recess, and it probably means little to anyone, but take time off to have a meal with your family, watch a movie with some friends... stuff like that. Chill. Life's too short to be stressed over school. We have bigger things in life to worry about. Like whether Ichigo (in Bleach) rescues the damsel in distress. And whether its possible to actually sing the ketchup song in Mongolian. Or whether turkeys really originate from Turkey.

School? pfft. that's like a hamster's dropping compared to all that.
